Some places where you can dine and shop are Plaza Singapura, Ngee Ann City, Tanglin Mall, Centrepoint, Marina Square, etc. You need to spend at least on whole day there to feel the vibrancy of the place and enjoy shopping till you drop. Taste the many cuisines of Asia and the world over here as you shop. Orchard road is full of activities during the festive seasons. Visit the Tourist Information centre along Orchard Road to get some special discount vouchers, offers, brochures on haw to travel in Singapore.

The latest shopping - largest retail and lifestyle destination is VIVOCITY, 10 minutes from Orchard Road. Travel to HarbourFront Centre (Where you take the cable car to Sentosa Island) - Get there by MRT North East line, taxi or bus.  For shopping plus entertainment - theatres and dinning, the popular places today is at Marina Bay Sands (more for shoppers who shop for designer labels) and Resort World Sentosa.

There are night markets but selection of goods are limited .

To shop for local or more cheaper good, visit some of the shopping centres where locals go. Some housing area have shopping malls along the MRT line or bus interchange (check out Transport options in Singapore or see section below). There are also local shops at some housing estates where there is a bus interchange (e.g. at Ang Mo Kio).

The simple and easy way to shop is at shopping arcades or malls along the MRT stops (or nearby) such as at Bishan, Novena, Toa Payoh,  Ang Mo Kio, Woodlands, Orchard, Somerset, City Hall, China Town, Little India, Sembawang, Bugis, Tampines, Jurong, etc. There are shopping malls and restaurants all house under one roof.
