  Tips on booking bus tickets

• Book weeks ahead if you are travelling during public holidays and school holidays (of both Malaysia and Singapore) if you are travelling in or out of Malaysia. If public holidays falls close to the weekend there will certainly be many travelling. For visitors to Malaysia, take note that passengers are not allowed to stand on express buses or intercity buses.
• In Malaysia, be sure to book from designated counters at bus terminals to be assured of a legitimate ticket. Most of the major companies that stop at KL or Singapore are listed above .
• The cost of a bus ticket does not vary much, and cost of travel per kilometer are fixed by the government. You will have to pay more for executive buses/coaches (3 seats in a row).
• In Singapore, you can book bus travel to Malaysia through travel agents (usually located at Golden Mile) or at counters/cabins located at the bus terminal for Malaysian buses at Lavender Street.
