BANANA FRITTERS (PISANG GORENG)

  • 1 comb Pisang Raja or any banana
  • 80g Flour
  • 80g Rice Flour
  • 1 tbsp Tapioca Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • About 430ml Water
  • Oil for deep-frying

Combine the three flours with baking powder, baking soda and salt, and sift into a large bowl.
Make a well in the center, pour in water and mix well to form a smooth batter.
Peel the bananas and cut lengthwise into two halves (or use whole banana if it is small). Dip the bananas into the batter until completely covered.
Deep fry each banana in hot oil till golden brown. Dish out and place on an absorbent paper, to drain the oil. Serve while still crispy.
