Custard crips are great cookies for the festive season. These cookies can be baked early and can keep.

Custard Crisps

Ingredients

  • 180g (6oz) butter
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup icing sugar
  • 1 ½ cup plain flour
  • 1 ¼ cup custard powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Preset the oven to 175degC (350degF)
Sift in flour and baking powder
Cream butter with icing sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and fold in the sifted flour. Mix well.
Lightly flour hands and shape teaspoonfuls of the mixture into balls. Place balls onto a lightly greased baking tray.
Press the centre of each cookie ball with a fork.
Bake in oven for about 12-15 minutes.
