Student coming from outside Malaysia to study should check on student requirements with the Ministry of Education Malaysia and Ministry of Higher education Education before they apply (check links to the Ministries websites). Students should also find out language requirements, entry qualification and certificates or degree they can expect. The main medium of instructions in government schools and public universities is the Malay language (Bahasa Malaysia). However, the primary medium of instructions in private schools, collages and universities is the English Language. The Malay Language is a compulsary subject in schools. It is also advisable for foreign students to learn the Malay language and about Malaysia - the country, people and cultural practices.
